Happy 1st December to you all!

Well, the first of December is no special date for me but stilll, I liked the idea that now December and the christmas time, the advent has begun. Yes I like this. I like when the christmas streetlights enlighten the city and wherever you look it seems  so cosy. Furthermore, these days it is getting colder here - until now we had a mild winter - so this is even more a reason to stay inside to drink tea, light the candles and listen to some lovely music. No, no christmas music. I think that´s the only thing I do not like too much about christmas. Instead, some great ´Wintermusik´

El Viaje / The Journey

Two weeks ago my postgraduate course started and we get to listen to a very wise and lovely man, reviewing and comenting us his professional life and giving some little advices on our way to become good professionals too. They say that when he once was asked what is his goal in life, he responded 'to be a good person'. This could seem a little pathetic. But this man is not pathetic at all. From this short moment I spent with him I would say this man reached his goal.
Thinking of people and working with people the question rises, who or what is a person? He summerized that it is not only the body, not only the brain or the the interactions that makes a person, ...it is his/her life-journey. So, "I'll go on my journey, and dreaming I will depart. I know that I don´t know who I am anymore and even where I will go. But, I konw that a journey is dicovery"

En Huelga General/ General Strike

The economic and social situation in Spain (and other countries too) these days (weeks, month or even years) is very difiicult and is getting worse. I am not supporting the decisions the government has taken and am therefore supporting the general strike today. Something has to change! I might understand people saying that this (strikes and demonstrations) will not change anything at all. Until now, there hasn´t come change (not for the good). Right. But, I can´t sit there and do as everything would be the same and not give my support. That would be, for me, even worse. That would mean I support the government, that would mean I give my approval to the cuts in e.g. health services and education. Today I am on strike!

More of Valencia

Back from a little pause

I love this contiguous existence of mordern and old.

I am back from my summer holidays. We've been to Valencia, such a lovely city, but also soo warm! Walking around the city the shadows guided our way. I am also back from the first weeks of stress of being back into the daily work life. But although it is a bit stressy it´s going great and I also took a decision for the near future, I enroled to a postgraduate study. 

Also, on Saturday I went to a concert of this great voice and I think it was the first time I went to concert alone. I was a bit afraid whether I could really enjoy it or if I wouldn´t miss to share the moment with someone and whether I wouldn't feel to uncomfortable....but I had fun! Maybe also because she danced and had a good moment on the stage in a way that you didn't felt alone?!

A walk around Teatre Grec

The other day we walked around on the montjuic, again. This time through the gardens of the old greek theatre, a guy was playing sax, another was practicing Tai Chi. I love the gardens and parks you can find on the montjuic. I don´t know how many times we've been strolling around the montjuic but almost everytime we find a new spot we didn´t know before. It surprises me because the montjuic is not that big.

The Start

I just listened to this song and fell in love with it. I know and really much like the music of Andrew Bird, but I didn´t know St. Vincent before.
I think, I once read the name and something about her but then forgot it again, until now.
It felt so good to listen to this song that I had the impulse to want to share it, let people enjoy of this great musical piece too. And that's when I thoughtI might start with a blog today. Will see how this will be...
